"Golden Milk" Ayurveda's Soothing and Anti-Inflammatory Healing Tonic!

Golden Milk

Also known as “Turmeric milk.” This evening tonic is well known in Ayurveda as a healing and grounding night-night warm drink. Known for its vast amount of benefits and is often used for its nourishing, immune boosting, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Perfect after a long day and for those evenings when it’s too late for a full dinner. 

These ingredients will be sure to help you soothe into the night, and score you a good night’s sleep. 

1 cup of almond milk.
½ teaspoon ground ginger.
½ cinnamon stick.
2 cardamom pods.
1 teaspoon of turmeric.
Pinch of black pepper.
1 teaspoon raw honey.

In a small deep pot, warm the milk, (keep in mind that this is a very creamy drink) use half milk, half water if you want it to be more liquidy, and warm to pre-boil over medium heat for 2 to 4 minutes. If you add water boil spices in the water before adding milk. If you only used milk add all the other ingredients, except the honey (honey should not be warmed up).  If you have it available use a whisk, preferably an electric one, to make it frothy and creamy. Pour it into your favorite mug and add a pinch of cinnamon on top, sweeten it with honey or maple syrup if you like, and indulge in an immunity-boosting, grounding treat.
